Leaders RCF finish league programme with 13 points

Chandigarh, Aug 4 (UNI) Rail Coach Factory (RCF) of Kapurthala held Jagatjit Cotton Textile (JCT) of Phagwara to a one-all draw and split points in the 21st Punjab State Super Football League at the RCF Stadium in Kapurthala.

RCF completed their league programme with 13 points from six matches, including four victories, one draw and one lost. They were leading the table after today's match.

A 'self goal' by Gurwinder Singh in the 50th minute put RCF into the lead while Baljit Singh Sahni restored parity for JCT in the 87th minute.

Now the match between Punjab Police and JCT on Monday will finally determine the winners. If Punjab Police of Hoshiarpur beat JCT Academy, the cops will emerge champions on the basis of better goal average.

The win against JCT Academy will put Punjab Police at par with Rail Coach Factory with 13 points.

RCF have scored five goals and conceded three with a goal difference of plus one. Punjab Police have netted eight goals and conceded three from five matches and have goal difference of plus five to their credit.

JCT have logged seven points from five outings, including one win and four draw.

Promoted to Super League, Punjab State Electricity Board of Hoshiarpur have collected eight points from five matches (two win, two draw and one defeat) and their last fixture is against bottom-place Mahilpur Football Club.
