Indore, Aug 4 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Jamuna Devi, who is also leader of opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly, has denied making allegations of corruption against the Lokayukta and said her name was being dragged into the controversy as part of a conspiracy by the state government.

Legal notices were being served to those newspapers which published news in this regard, Ms Jamuna Devi said in a statement today.

''Mr Justice Ripusudan Dayal, the Lokayukta, is a very honest man and under his supervision the Lokayukta Sangathan has launched a decisive crusade against corruption in Madhya Pradesh'', she said.

On the other hand, the Lokayukta's recommendation to take action against three IAS officers facing corruption charge was creating problems for the state government and hence this conspiracy was cooked up to defame Mr Justice Dayal using her name, the Congress leader said, adding those elements were involved in getting the news published.

The Opposition leader said she was sending a letter to the Chief Minister seeking a high-level probe into the entire issue.

Recently, she said, the Lokayukta has written a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recommending to take action against three senior IAS officers. Besides, the Lokayukta also made certain remarks against the state BJP General Secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki.

She said the state government was not interested to take action on the recommendation of the Lokayukta. Rather, an amendment was made in the Service Rules of Government Servants negating earlier provision for suspending those government officials against whom charge-sheets were filed by the Lokayukta.
