Gaur denies possibility of becoming Assly Speaker

Bhopal, Aug 4 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Commerce Minister Babulal Gaur today denied the possibility of his becoming Vidhan Sabha Speaker.

Mr Gaur, while addressing 'meet the press' programme here, said the proposal of making him the Vidhan Sabha Speaker came from former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa. However, he did not accept the proposal.

He said he had not received any proposal in this regard from the party.

On whether there was pressure on him to become the Speaker, he said he did not work under someone's pressure.

He said at present he was content with dsicharging his responsibilities as a minister.

Speculation is right that Speaker Ishwardas Rohani would be given a cabinet berth in the probable cabinet reshuffle, while Mr Gaur would replace Mr Rohani.
