Fresh gastroenteritis cases reported in Gulbarga
Gulbarga, Aug 4 (UNI) As many as 30 fresh cases of gastroenteritis were reported from Kakkera village in Surpur taluk, where two persons have died of the epidemic during the last three days.
Official sources said as many as 300 persons, including 100 children, were down with gastroenteritis after drinking contaminated water. Some of them were being treated in a Government school. ''All of them are out of danger now,'' a health official said.
Meanwhile, the victims alleged that the panchayat employees' negligence in cleaning and chlorinating the overhead water tank had led to the spread of the epidemic in the village.
