First private university in MP to come up in Dewas

Bhopal, Aug 4 (UNI) The first ever private university of Madhya Pradesh is all set to come up in Dewas district.

A MOU would be inked by the Secretary and Commissioner (Higher Education) Ashish Upadhyaya on behalf of the State Government and Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India (ICFAI) Chairman Subhash Sarnikar in Dewas tomorrow.

The institute has expressed a desire to invest Rs 150 crore during the next five years for the establishment of the university, an official release said here today.

Minister of State for School Education Paras Jain, MP Thawarchand Gehlot, departmental officers and representatives of ICFAI would be present on the occasion.

Minister of State for Higher Education (Independent Charge) Tukojirao Puar has informed that the establishment of the private university would prove to be a one of the important steps to check migration of students from the state for pursuing higher studies.

Deliberations were being made to grant permission to academic institutions of national repute to run institutions in the state.

After the Madhya Pradesh Private University Act, which was passed in the last budget session, has opened doors for establishment of private universities in the state, the release added.
