DIG of Prisons in Karnataka commits suicide

Bangalore, Aug 4 (UNI) In a shocking incident a Deputy Inspector General of Prisons committed suicide in a guest house situated within the premises of the Central Jail in the outskirts of the city this evening.

According to police sources the Mr A S Abbai (50), a senior official of the State Prisons Department hanged himself in a room in the guest house and ended his life.

The deceased also reportedly left behind a suicide note and blamed himself for taking the extreme step.

He is survived by wife and a daughter, the sources said.
