Dabur joins civic fight against malaria, dengue

Mumbai,Aug4(UNI) Leading Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, Dabur India Ltd., today donated a 30,000 Odomos coil and cream to Dr Shubha Raul, Mayor of Mumbai, as part of its initiative to help the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration in containing the outbreak of Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya.

The truckload of Odomos Coil and cream was handed over to the Mayor by Vikram Bali, Regional Head, Western Region, Dabur India Ltd.

On the occasison, Dr. Shubha Raul said the BMC has constantly strived to eradicate mosquito related diseases from Mumbai. The civic body has taken steps such as fogging and oiling water ponds, along with regularly conducting public awareness programmes.

However, the Mayor said that a lot more was needed to be done to increase the awareness amongst the public to help the administration gain momentum in its efforts. Mumbai's fight against mosquitoes had to be the combined effort of the BMC, Mumbai's residents, and corporate houses, she added.

described the donation as a small initiative of his company to give back some part of what as an organization it had gained from the community.
