Church property demolished by miscreants

Udaipur, August 4 (UNI) An under construction building of Roman Catholic church was demolished by some unidentified miscreants early morning here today.

According to Udaipur Bishop Joseph Pathalil the church had purchased some land at Chawand village in Sarada Tehsil under the same police station about one year back and a building to serve as the priest's residence was under construction on the said land.

About two hundred masked miscreants came on jeeps after midnight and tied up the watchmen and razed the building to the ground, the Bishop said.

The church authorities have registered a complaint at the Sarada police station this evening.
