CBCID sleuths raid controversial industrialist's office
Chennai, Aug 4 (UNI) Sleuths of Crime Branch CID today raided the office of 'V V Minerals', run by Mr S Vaikundarajan, who is also in the centre of controversy in the titanium dioxide issue.
Police sources said a team of 25 CB CID police, led by Deputy Suprintendent Mr Parthasarathy carried out the raid for about an hour at the office premise in the busy Egmore area in the city.
After collecting details about the staff members and verifying their mobile and landline phone numbers, the team left. However, they did not seize any documents, sources said.
The raid came a day after police arrested the younger brother of Mr Vaikundarajan at Tuticorin.
Mr Vaikundarajan, who is engaged in mining in Tuticorin and Tirunelveli districts was at the centre of controversy after the ruling DMK accused the previous AIADMK regime of showing undue favouritism to him.
