Apollo opens four heart clinics in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Aug 4 (UNI) The city-based Apollo Hospitals launched four chest pain clinics in Ahmedabad to overcome the barrier of distance and time. Inaugurating the specialised clinics, Padmabhushan Dr Naresh Trehan said, that these clinics will provide on-the-spot diagnosis, treatment and follow-up plan for each patient, wheeled in with chest pain.

Apollo plans to open six more such clinics across Ahmedabad.

Asserting that prevention is the best cure, Dr Trehan said, it is observed that Gujaratis among Indians are most prone to heart diseases due to food habits. Rajasthanis and Punjabis closely follow them because of similar lifestyles.

He added, the current statistics show an alarming incidence of heart diseases in cardio-vascular diseases. People with family history of heart diseases are at four times higher risk of developing such diseases.

Dr Trehan said, that Apollo has undertaken more than 60,000 cardiac surgeries and have the sucess rate of 99.6 percent.
