3 sandalwood smugglers held

Rajgarh, MP, Aug 3 (UNI) Three sandalwood smugglers were arrested and about five quintal sandalwood worth Rs 15 lakh seized from different places in this district, police said today.

Police said sandalwood was seized from Sadawata, Padlya Mata and Chaturukhedi villages in Sarangpur area.

Kingpin Ahmed Noor and two others, who were apprehended, disclosed that more than a dozen people were involved in smuggling, police said.

Sandalwood worth Rs 1.5 lakh was seized on August 1 in Sadawata village. Later, in the same village police recovered five quintal sandalwood from the house of Manjoj Sen, who managed to escape, police added.
