2 sharp shooters of Chhota Rajan gang held

Muzaffarnagar, Aug 4 (UNI) Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police today arrested two sharp shooters of the Chhota Rajan gang after an encounter here.

Shamsher of Bhadoi and Murad Khan of Varanasi were nabbed near Dhamat Puliya in Purkaji area.

''Both the criminals were planning to go to Mumbai and arrested on the information of Mumbai Police,'' Senior Superintendent of Police STF Amitabh Yash said.

Illegal weapons and a large quantity of cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused, who were also involved in several other heinous crimes.

Murad Khan is said to be the close confidant of jailed former MLA Dr Udai Bhan Singh. He was also wanted in the infamous Rakesh Pandey murder case in Gopiganj area of Bhadhoi, which is still being probed by the CBI.

Besides, the notorious criminal was prime accused in the murder of PWD engineer in Robertsganj three years back.
