RBI to roll out new Rs 2 coins
Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today said it will shortly put into circulation new ferritic stainless steel coins of Rs 2, encrypted with the theme 'nritya mudra'.
On one side, the coin will be divided into three portions with two horizontal lines where the centre portion bears the 'Lion Capitol' of Ashoka Pillar while the top portion will contain the word 'Yeejle' in Hindi and 'India' in English, bottom portion will contain the year in International numerals.
The reverse face of the coin will have visuals showing 'Mudras' from 'Bharat Natyam'. However, the existing two Rs coins in circulation will also continue in the system, said RBI.
The new coin will have an outside diameter of 27 millimeters.
