Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 3 (UNI) A local court today confiscated a private bus as the bus company failed to comply with the court order and pay compensation to a passenger, who was injured in a accident.

On a petition filed by one Subbarayulu (60), the Kancheepuram Sub Court had directed the bus company to pay a compensation of Rs 45,000 to him as the bus was started without any prior notice while he was boarding the bus on January 25, 2002, fracturing his leg.

As the bus company proprietor Ravikumar did not pay the compensation, Subbarayulu had approached the court again.

The court had ordered Mr Ravikumar to pay the sum immediately along with interest, totally amounting to Rs 60,000.

As Mr Ravikumar chose not to pay the compensation again, Judge M Moni ordered the confiscation of the bus.

Following this, court employees confiscated the bus and brought it to the court premises.
