Seminar on record management tomorrow
Chandigarh, Aug 2 (UNI) Chandigarh Administration, in association with National Archives of India, Government of India, will organise a one day seminar on 'Record Management: Challenges and Best Practices' at Government Museum and Art Gallery Auditorium tomorrow.
An official spokesman said that UT Home Secretary Krishna Mohan would inaugurate the seminar which would be the first such event being organised in northern India.
The seminar would cover various topics like Record Management as a key for appreciate administration, Public Records Act, 1993 and Public Records Rules, 1997, Record Management and Right to Information Act, 2005, New challenges in Record Management: Electronic Records and Records as Corporate Memory and as Documentary Heritage of the nation.
The seminar was first in a series of annual seminars being organised by the National Archives of India throughout the country to sensitize the creators and users of records about the need for their proper management.
The seminar would draw its participants from amongst leading organisations like National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, Accountant General's Office, Chandigarh, Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Chandigarh Chapter, National Fertilizers Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Panjab University and local librarians and heads of libraries.
