Rupee opened at 40.44/45 per USD

Mumbai, Aug 2: Rupee today opened almost steady today at 40.44/45 per US dollar as compared to previous close at 40.45/46 per dollar.

The Indian unit in the morning session made a ease start, currently trading at 40.45/46 and expected to remain tight at 40.47/48 against US currency, dealers said.
