Raipur, Aug 2: In the wake of cross voting in the Presidential election, the Chhattisgarh Nagarik Parishad has filed an application under the Right to Information Act with the Election Commission seeking details of the votes cast by the members of the electoral college from the state.

''We have sought a copy of list of electors (MLAs and MPs), copies of ballot papers on which they exercised their franchise so as to find out who voted for whom in the recent Presidential election'', Parishad President Ravi Tiwari said in a press release.

He said members of Parliament and legislators had exercised their franchise in the Presidential election in their capacity as the representatives of the people.

''Hence, the people have got every right to know to whom these MPs and MLAs had voted for in the Presidential election'', he added.

Chhattisgarh had witnessed cross voting in the Presidential election as the NDA-backed candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat polled only 51 votes through the ruling BJP has a strength of 53 in the 91-member legislative assembly.
