Private institutions to develop airstrips

Bhopal, Aug 2 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today endorsed the new procedure adopted for giving the airstrips to private institutions for 10 years for pilot training and aviation activities.

Besides, development maintenance and engineering training would also be carried out.

The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.

These airstrips are in Neemuch, Khargone, Shivpuri, Guna, Sagar, Satna (Dhaba), Hoshangabad (Pachmari), Sidhi, Rewa, Chhindwara, Jhabua, Balaghat (Baihar) districts, an official release said here.

It was decided to authorise the department to take action for issuing licences to concerning airstrips on the basis of tenders.

The Director (Aviation) has been authorised for entering into agreement with applicant institution and to issue license to the private institution for the prescribed purpose for remaining airstrips, the release added.
