Lt Gen Jaiswal new GOC of 4 Corps

Guwahati, Aug 2 (UNI) Lt Gen B S Jaiswal will be the new General Officer Commanding of the 4 Corps, based in Tezpur.

He will replace Lt Gen R K Chabbra on August 7.

The Defence Ministry had deputed Lt Gen Chabbra as Chief of Staff, Southern Command.

Lt Gen Jaiswal, presently posted as Director General, Infantry, at Army headquarters in New Delhi, will take over charge on August 7.

Army sources said the transfer was a regular exercise.

'' An officer can be posted at a separate place between 10 to 18 months. Lt Gen Chabbra joined as GOC, 4 Corps, in March last year and so it was a general order. The Defence Ministry took some time in issuing the order. '' Lt Gen Chabra will be given formal farewell at a function on August 9.
