Junior engineer caught taking bribe

Varanasi, Aug 2 (UNI) Anti-Corruption sleuths today caught a junior engineer of the electricity department red handed accepting Rs 1,000 as bribe in Badagaon area here.

Ram Naresh Patel, a junior engineer posted at the Electricity Distribution Block in Anai (Badagaon), was caught accepting bribe from Vinod Kumar Singh, police said.

A few days ago, Vinod of Kapsethi area had complained to the anti-corruption cell of the police about Ram Naresh, who was demanding Rs 1,000 as bribe for increasing the electric load of a tube well.

The sleuths laid a trap and arrested the junior engineer while accepting bribe from Vinod.

A case had been registered against him under the Anti Corruption Act.
