Itanagar, Aug 2 (UNI) Global Human Rights Organisation (GHRO), an NGO, today urged the state government to constitute an independent commission on border issue and construct permanent wall to demarcate the boundary bewteen Asom and Arunachal Pradesh.

The NGO has requested the government to start immediate dialogue with its Asom counterpart and the Centre on inter-state boundary matter for amicable and permanent solution to the issue and maintaining peaceful co-existence, GHRO chairman Goken Bam said here.

Reacting to the recent firing at Dollungmukh in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr Bam said the unprovoked firing by the Assam Forest Police on innocent villagers resulted in injuries to three localities.

Terming the incident 'barbaric', GHRO condemned the incident and said it was the violation of the Supreme Court order to maintain the status-quo on inter-state boundary issue.

Flaying the recent incidents of unprovoked attack near the Arunachal border by Assam police, the organisation urged both the governments to immediately arrest and punish the erring police personnel and officers.

They also criticised the Arunachal government for its inactiveness.
