Four killed in Ramban

Jammu, Aug 2 (UNI) Four people, including three students of Patna Engineering College, were killed while six others received severe injuries when a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Nachlana in Ramban, official sources said here today.

Army spokesperson Col RK Kaushish said the vehicle, which was on its way from Vaishno Devi, Katra to Srinagar, fell into a gorge near Nachlana reportedly due to the negligence of the driver.

A police party from Banihal Police Station reached the spot and started rescue operation with the active assistance of troops of 23 Rashtriya Rifles, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Ajay Kumar, Nikhil Prakash Gautam Kumar and Sunil Kumar,(driver) while five of the injured admitted in the Emergency Hospital Banihal have been identified as Ashutosh, Amit Kumar, Surjeet Kumar, Bablu, Madhu Ranjan and Rahul Dev, all residents of Patna.
