Website to trace missing children launched

Gulbarga, Aug 1: In an effort to trace missing children and bring better coordination between Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), a website, 'home link and missing child search', was launched here yesterday.

Detailing about the website, Director of Don Bosco, an NGO, Rev George Kulleseny said the venture, initiated by the Don Bosco national programme for young at risk, was supported by the UNICEF and Department of Women and Child Welfare as a pilot programme to document, trace and network children in need of protection and care.

He said the website (www.missing childrensearch.net) linked all the young at risk projects in India, where 40 NGOs in 65 cities were working for the protection of children.

He said it brought different NGOs across the country into its network based on the various data analysis at every point of the network. This would help the Government and other agencies to plan and make policies to provide a better environment for the child to grow.
