Taipei 101 aims full occupancy within 2 years
TAIPEI, Aug 1 (Reuters) Taipei 101, the world's second tallest building, will reach full occupancy within two years and aims to break even over the next few years due to rising demand for high-end office space in Taiwan, its operator said TOday.
''We plan to rent out all our office space within two years and we hope to break even in two to three years,'' Diana Chen, chairwoman of the Financial Center Corp., told Reuters in an interview in the skyscraper overlooking the Taiwan capital.
Taipei 101, which was has been losing money since its inauguration at the end of 2004, reported a T1.74 billion dollar (US53 million dollar) net loss in 2006, company data showed.
The gleaming 508-metre (1,667-feet) tower now has an occupancy rate of 75 per cent with famous tenants including financial company ING Group, accounting firm KPMG and the Taiwan stock exchange.
