One foreign militant killed in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 1: Security forces gunned down a foreign militant in an encounter in north Kashmir, a police spokesman said.

Troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir launched a joint operation at Zaloora, Sopore, about 55 km from here today, the spokesman added.

A foreign militant was killed and one AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant during the encounter, he said.
