JK: HM 'regional commander' killed in Doda

Jammu, Aug 1: In a pre-dawn operation, security forces gunned down a top Pakistani 'regional commander' of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant-outfit in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir today, a senior police officer said.

Troops of Ten Rashtriya Rifles and police succeeded in eliminating Abid Hussian Basra alias Zargam alias Hayat (Radio Set Code K-2), a resident of Rehimyarkhan in Pakistan, Punjab region, at Nagnanullah under Doda police station, SSP Manohar Singh told UNI.

One AK rifle, three magazines, thirty-seven rounds, a binocular, one grenade, two identity cards and a pouch were recovered from the site of the encounter, the SSP said.
