Kashmir issue should be solved within a timeframe: JKDF
Jammu, July 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF) chief Pandit Bhushan Bazaz today said a timeframe should be set for the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
Addressing party workers here, he said the issue could be solved only if India and Pakistan displayed ''more sincerity''.
''The recent efforts by the two countries on Kashmir are laudable...But for a final settlement, India and Pakistan will have to be more sincere. They must also set a timeframe,'' Pandit Bazaz said.
He alleged that some forces in India and Pakistan did not want the contentious issue to be resolved due to vested interests.
''They do not want the issue to be solved and an end to violence as their livelihood depends on the bloodshed,'' the JKDF chief said.
He stated the people were passing through a very difficult time for last 18 years. ''The common man is facing death... The politicians responsible for the plight of the people are trying to portray themselves as messiahs of the masses,'' he said.
