Kanchi Mutt Seers begin "Chathurmasiya Viratham"

Kancheepuram, July 29 (UNI) Kanchi seers Jayendra Saraswathi and Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi today began their ''Chathurmasiya Viratham'' at Kanchi Sankara Mutt here.

The seers would continue with the ''Chathurmasiya Viratham'' till September 26.

Special poojas were performed at the Mutt today amidst chanting of vedic hymns by scholars.

The Kanchi seers also visited Sri Ekambareshwarar temple and offered special prayers.

Later, they offered prayers at Maha Periyaval Adhishtanam on the Mutt premises.

The 73rd Jayanthy fete of Jayendra Saraswathi would be celebrated on July 31.
