Inquiry ordered into Kashmir bus explosion

Srinagar, July 29 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has ordered an inquiry to ascertain the nature of an explosion which ripped apart a bus near the Mughal Gardens at Shalimar today, killing five people, including four tourists from Gujarat.

Mr Azad expressed shock and grief over the incident in which 22 others were also wounded.

Immediately after he came to know about the explosion at Shalimar, about 15 km from here, the Chief Minister asked Director- General of Police Kuldeep Khuda and other officers to rush to the spot, evacuate the wounded to hospitals and ascertain complete details of the incident.

Mr Azad said he was pained to know about the incident and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

He directed the health officials to provide best possible treatment to the injured and prayed for their speedy recovery.
