Family eagarly awaits Haneef's arrival

Bangalore, Jul 29: The family members eagerly awaits the return of Mohammed Haneef, the Indian doctor cleared of terror charges after undergoing a 27-day ordeal in the Australian federal police custody, as he is scheduled to arrive here from Bangkok tonight.

Earlier the 27-year-old Dr Haneef landed in Bangkok aboard a Thai Airways flight today after leaving Brisbane following Australian police dropping the charges for 'recklessly' supporting a terrorist organistaion.

Haneef would be reunited with his wife Firdous Arshiya and one month old daughter Hania. It will be the biggest moment of life for the Indian doctor when he see's his daughter for the first time. His mother, sister spent eager moments at their home in teaming Tannery Road and brother were eagerly let the time to pass even as his arrival in the city drew close.

Firdous said she was happy that Hannef was proved innocent.

"It is a festive day for us and I am so happy. Yes, we have made good preparations. Sweets and biryani awaits Haneef when he comes home. We will have a family get together," she said at her father's BTM Layout residence.

Heavy media build up was seen at HAL Airport in the city since early this morning. The media persons, who had made a hectic preparation, did not wanted to take any chances and reached the airport in the morning. Four flights come from Bangkok to Bangalore and Haneef would be arriving in the last flight at 2130 hrs local time by taking TG 325 flight of Thai Airways from Bangkok to the city.

Haneef was arrested by the Brisbane police on July two when he was trying to board a flight bound for Bangalore in connection with the June 30 failed Glasgow Airport attack. He was released from a Brisbane jail on Friday night.
