Curfew announced in Baghdad to protect soccer fans
BAGHDAD, July 29 (Reuters) A vehicle curfew would be imposed across Baghdad in a bid to avert attacks on fans celebrating Iraq's appearance in the Asian Cup soccer final today, Iraqi military officials said.
Baghdad's chief military spokesman Brigadier General Qassim Moussawi said the curfew would be imposed from 4 pm (1730 IST) until 6 am tomorrow (0730 IST). The final against Saudi Arabia begins in Jakarta later today.
