BJP demands stringent law against terrorism
New Delhi, July 29 (UNI) The BJP Minorities Morcha today demanded that the Government bring in a stringent and effective legislation to deal with terrorism.
A political resolution adopted at the Morcha's National executive here also demanded reservation for the poor so that the benefit went to every deprived section, including the minorities.
''The Congress and its allies have always considered the minorities as a vote bank, and have not taken any concrete steps for their uplift,'' On the other hand, it said, the NDA under the Prime Ministership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee took effective measures for the education of the minorities and their economic development.
''The UPA Government, which has been ineffective in dealing with terrorism, spreads the message that every arrested terrorist is a muslim.... It is only the BJP which does not link every muslim with terrorism,'' the resolution said.
It said the weak polices of the UPA Government were, in fact, responsible for some of the youths joining terrorist organisations.
''The Government neither could provide them education nor employment.'' The resolution also said that the Government had illegally occupied a large portion of Wagf properties across the country, and demanded a white paper on the issue.
