Man shot dead in UP capital

Lucknow, July 28: A man was shot dead in a drunken brawl under the rural Madiaon area of the Uttar Pradesh capital around midnight, police today said.

Nanhe Lal (33) picked up a fight with another person and beat him up. However, the wounded man's aides shot Nanhe with a countrymade pistol and inflicted multiple stab wounds with sharp-edged weapons.

He died on the spot.

Later, four persons were named in the case, of which three had been arrested, police informed.
