Work of coop institutions to be reviewed: Minister
Bhopal, July 27 (UNI) The government was reviewing the working of all cooperative institutions in Madhya Pradesh to make its functioning effective and also to check leakages and blackmarketing, Cooperative Minister Gopal Bhargava told the Madhya Pradesh Assembly today.
Admitting that complaints had been received from all districts about the working of cooperative bodies, he said the government had taken a serious view in this regard and the irregularities were being probed into and the guilty would be punished. Action had already been taken against 160 employees, he said while replying to a call attention notice on the issue.
He said Additional Registrar would be deputed to probe into the irregularities in the Bhind District Cooperative Central Bank, which were raised by Dr Govind Singh, Mr Rajnarayan Singh and Mr Sajjan Singh Verma (all Cong), who moved the notice.
When Mr Verma pointed out that Bank Chairman Shyam Sunder Singh Jadon had committed fraud of more than Rs 5 crore, Mr Bhargava said fraud of Rs 4 crore was made during the previous Congress regime. He denied that Jadon was influencing the cooperative elections by issuing due certificates to cooperative societies.
Dr Govind Singh alleged that Jadon was pressurising employees for loan recovery even after the NABARD deadline of June 30.
Mr Bhargava said Jadon's relative Raisingh Jadon, who was appointed as a bank employee on the basis of bogus marksheet, would be dismissed with immediate effect.
