We never praised Nuclear deal, says BJP

New Delhi, July 27: The BJP today described as 'unfortunate' the reports that the BJP delegation in its meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday had praised the Indo-US nuclear deal.

''We feel sad about such kind of misleading report. The delegation led by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had expressed its concern and apprehensions about the deal and these concern will remain on board unless the whole text of the agreement is made public,'' BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

''We reject the misleading statement attributed to the BJP delegation,'' he said.

He said the BJP had earlier expressed its concern over four points which should be looked into, which included the country's nuclear sovereignty, security interests and independent foreign policy.
