TRAI extends date for receiving comments on CAS

New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India(TRAI) has decided to extend the last date for receiving comments on recommendations of a group on 'the best way forward for implementation of CAS in cable TV network'.

The Group consisting of members from TRAI, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prasar Bharti, Broadcasters, MSOs, DTH operators, Cable Operator/Distributor associations and consumer organizations was constituted to deliberate on issues relating to digitalization and introduction of voluntary CAS.

It had submitted its recommendations to the Authority on June 12.

These recommendations were placed on TRAI's website and comments from stakeholders were invited by July five.

However, the TRAI has now decided to extend the last date to August 15 for wider participation of stakeholders.
