Tata tea market leader in packaged tea segment
Mumbai, July 27 (UNI) World's Second Largest branded tea producer Tata Tea today emerged as market leader in the country in terms of volume share in the packaged tea segment.
For the first time ever, in the month of June 2007, the company outperformed its nearest competitior with a volume share of 19.2 per cent, as compared to Hindustan Lever's 18.6 per cent.
The company's market share grew from 16.3 per cent to 19.2 per cent in last five years.
Tata Tea Limited is a group Company of TATA Group. It was formed in 1983 from the erstwhile Tata Finlay, a joint venture company formed in 1964. The Company has five major tea brands and holds the second position in market and value share in domestic branded tea business.
