SRMB Udyog introduces Kapil Dev as brand ambassador

Kochi, July 27 (UNI) SRMB Udyog Ltd, the first TMT bar manufacturer in the secondary steel sector in the country, today introduced 'Haryana Hurricane' Kapil Dev as its brand ambassador.

Addressing a press conference here alongwith the ace cricketer, SRMB Udyog Ltd. Vice-President, Marketing, M M Abraham, said the company is expanding its reach to different parts of the country through a steady expansion mode fuelled by a brand new product portfolio.

The company, better known as SRMB Steel, currently owns two manufacturing units in West Bengal located at Paharpur in Kolkata and in Durgapur. One more unit is coming up at Durgapur shortly, Mr Abraham said.

Kapil Dev said he has signed a three-year contract with SRMB starting from March 2007. He would be closely associated with the brand and participate in its various promotional activities.

Describing Kerala as an important market, Mr Abraham said the company had opened a stockyard at Kozhikode on July one and a second stockyard will be opened very soon at Alappuzha.

He said the company planned to foray into the retail sector with state of the art exclusive steel shops across the country in the near future.
