President Bush hails Indo-US civil nuclear pact
Washington, July 27 (UNI) Describing India as a vital world leader President Bush today welcomed the successful conclusion of the India-US civil nuclear agreement as another step in deepening the strategic partnership with India.
He promised to work with the US Congress to fully realise this important initiative.
He also specially commended those engaged in the marathon negotiations that concluded the deal in both New Delhi and Washington.
In a statement issued from the White House, Mr Bush said, ''I welcome the conclusion of negotiations on a bilateral agreement between the United States and India for peaceful nuclear cooperation. I commend those from both countries who have worked hard to make this deal happen, and I look forward to working with Congress to realise this important initiative. This marks another step in the continued progress that is deepening our Strategic Partnership with India, a vital world leader.'' UNI
