Temple bull Shambo led to slaughter in London
London, July 27: British police seized a sacred bull from a Hindu monastery in Wales yesterday and prepared to take it away for slaughter because the animal had tested positive for tuberculosis, a spokesman for Britain's Hindu Council said.
Police entered the Hindu community centre to remove a diseased bull in the face of peaceful, but determined, protests from pilgrims, monks and nuns.
Some 25 police officers, clad in bright-yellow rain jackets and helmets, but without any riot equipment, attempted to remove some 150 protestors from the Skanda Vale multi-faith community centre in Llanpumsaint, in west Wales.
