Mehta elected Prez, Murli Deora, Sri Krishna as VPs of Bhavan
New Delhi, Jul 27 (UNI) Mr Sunderlal G Mehta, a leading philanthropist from Kolkata, was today elected as the President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, one of the premier educational institutions in the country.
Union Minister Murli Deora and former Supreme Court judge Srikrishna were unanimously elected as Vice presidents.
Mr Mehta was earlier the Vice President and a Trustee of Bhavan for 36 years. His father too had held the President's post for several years.
While Mr Deora was a student of Bhavan's colleges in Mumbai and had been responsible for running the Bhavan's Gandhi Institute of Computer Education and Information Technology, Sri Krishna, a Sanskrit scholar, had also been associated with the Bhavan over many years.
