Major tragedy averted; IED recovered in Rajouri

Jammu, July 27: Security forces averted a major tragedy in Jammu and Kashmir's border district Rajouri when they intercepted a powerful improvised explosive device (IED) last night, official sources said here today.

Troops of Rastriya Rifles (RR) intercepted an oil filter vehicle on the Rajouri-Thanamandi road in Thanamandi belt of the district, the sources said.

During an investigation, the security men detected the IED and defused it. The device was planted in the oil filter of the vehicle, they added.
