IAF's Himalayan Eagles to go on trekking expedition in Leh
Chandigarh, July 27 (UNI) To mark the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Indian Air Force, a team from 25 Squadron (Himalayan Eagles), based at Air Force Station Chandigarh, will proceed on a trekking expedition from Padam to Lamayaru, situated near Leh in Ladakh.
An official release stated that the 12-member expedition would be flagged off on August two from here. The 125 Km route will be covered in 12 days.
''Besides adventure, the objective of the team is to educate the people about the various environmental issues such as global warming and water scarcity. The team would also spread awareness about Indian Air Force and its contribution to the region and the nation at large amongst the local populace en route the trek,'' the release said.
