HPCC president completes two years in office

Shimla, July 27 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) members today felicitated its president Viplove Thakur on completing two years in office as party president.

Party members, including Excise and Taxation Minister Rangila Ram Rao, HPCC vice president Kunjanan Singh, general-secretaries Satya Prakash Thakur and Anil Sharma and several other, lauded Ms Thakur for her efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroot level at a function organised at Mandi today.

The members complimented the state party president for initiating personal contacts with party workers in the 47 assembly constituencies out of a total of 68.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Thakur said her immediate aim was to ensure the party's victory in the February 2008 Assembly elections.

''Besides, strengthening the party at the grassroot level, I will consider having successfully discharged my duties if I am able to satisfy the responsibilities entrusted to me by the party president,'' she added.
