Docs strike badly affects health services
Aizawl, Jul 27(UNI) The two-day mass casual leave agitation of the government doctors that entered the second day today severly affected the health services here.
The closure of most private clinics run by senior doctors also left the patients helpless.
The government doctors have made it clear that they could not accept the recent Cabinet's decision which had apparently rectified the pay scale of group A officers, engineers and doctors, but had actually degraded the medical practitioners.
Among others, the doctors demanded that Assured Career Progression Scheme be also given to them as is to the Group A, B, C and D employees. The doctors also insisted on creation of principal director post for the Health directorate, while making it clear that they would not allow clubbing of grades in the Health department.
If the two-day mass-CL-leave strike bears no positive results, the doctors will avail another mass CL on August 1, 2 and 3.
