Court takes cognizance and summons Patna DM

Patna, July 27 (UNI) A local court today took cognizance against Patna District Magistrate B Rajendra and ordered a summons in a case related to manhandling a person.

First Class Judicial Magistrate of Patna Sobha Kant Mishra passed the order to issue summon to Mr Rajendra after taking cognizance in the case under Section 323 and 504 of Indian Penal Code(IPC).

The case was filed by one Ajeet Kumar, a resident of Tineri village under Massaurhi police station in Patna district on June 28, 2007.

The cognizance was taken after an inquiry by the court in which two witnesses had substantiated the allegation.

According to the charges, when Mr Kumar had gone to Vikas Bhawan at Patna collectorate for an inquiry about the electric sub-power station, which was to be installed at his village, Mr Rajendra had manhandled him and used filthy language.
