Congress for emotional integration of HP, says CM

Dharamshala, Jul 27 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today accused the opposition parties of dividing people on narrow sectarian lines and said the that the state had been integrated emotionally whenever the Congress came to power.

Speaking on the closing ceremony of three-day long Bal Vikas Utsav, organized by Bal Vikas Samiti at Nagrota Bagwan, while the other parties were dividing people on religion, region and caste the Congress has always stood for its emotion integration.

Without naming the BSP, Mr Singh said the peace loving, honest, and hardworking people of the state would not be mislead by false promises of the new parties.

He asked the people to remain vigilant against all forces that were bent upon to divide them on narrow sectarian lines.

The benefits of development were equally delivered to every household and targeted group who were brought at par with the other developed section of the society, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the people had immense faith in the progressive, visionary and development-oriented policies and programmes of the Congress Government and added that Himachal Pradesh had emerged as a model of development for the rest of the country.

Mr Singh said special attention was also placed on Kangra district and zonal administration and developmental offices had been opened at Dharamshala to facilitate the people of the area.

The new Vidhan Sabha Complex was constructed at Tapovan, near Dharmshala, in a record time and two of the winter sessions of the state Vidhan Sabha held during the last two years, he said.

Excise and Taxation Minister Rangila Ram Rao, Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali and several other Congress leaders were also present on the occasion.
