BML Hansi-Butana canal to be completed in time
Chandigarh, July 27 (UNI) Haryana Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav today said the construction of Bhakra Main Line Hansi Butana Branch would be completed by the Irrigation Department at the earliest.
Capt Yadav said the construction work in 100 km length of the canal was already in full swing. About 10 km length of the under construction canal was under litigation.

He said all the 15 Civil Writ Petitions and Public Interest Litigations filed on the issue had been dismissed by a bench of of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday.
He said around 83 per cent of earth work of the canal had been completed while more than 73 per cent of lining of the canal was in progress.
Mr Yadav said the state government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had taken various steps for equitable distribution of water and canals were being constructed in the state.
