BJP, BJYM condemn decision on 'light going rail'
Tirupati, July 27 (UNI) The BJP and BJYM condemned the TTD's decision to lay a 'light going rail' between Renigunta and Tirumala for the benefit of the pilgrims here today.
Addressing a joint press conference BJP leader S Srinivas and BJYM state President Bhanuprakash Reddy had alleged that the TTD's decision to run a light going rail was aganist the agama sastras and would affect the sentiments of Hindu devotees.
They demanded to bring a separate Act for prohibiting political rallies at Tirumala and diversion of TTD funds for anything other than Hindu propagation.
However, TTD trust board in its recent meeting held under the Chairmanship of B Karunakara Reddy had resolved to commission Rail India Technical Engineering Services (RITES) to conduct a feasibility study for the proposed mass transport system to Tirumala.
