Bata India records 62.60% rise in net profit
New Delhi, July 27 (UNI) Country's largest footwear retailer Bata India Ltd has posted a 62.60 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 11.74 crore during in the second quarter of Fy07 against Rs 7.22 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The turnover of the company increased to Rs 255.60 crore from Rs 227.62 crore in second quarter last year, registering a 12.3 per cent rise, the company said in a statement.
The company is on a major expansion spree and plans to add 200 new stores in next two years. These stores will operate in a four-tier retail format under a new retail model - up-market flagship stores, smart and trendy city stores and super stores and traditional family stores.
